Adjective: relating to apes and monkeys?

The current definitions are:

1. Of or pertaining to apes; apelike. 2. Bearing resemblance to an ape.

I think these should be changed to

1. Of or pertaining to apes or monkeys; apelike, monkeylike. 2. Bearing resemblance to an ape or monkey.

Taxonomically, simian generally refers to Simiiformes, which does include both Old and New World monkeys. Generally if you are X-like then you resemble X, thus "bearing a resemblance" is the sense where "-like" probably best fits. "Of or pertaining" is not usually "like": e.g. the science of studying monkeys is not a monkey-like science. Equinox ◑ 23:45, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
