strikethrough

[edit]

strikethrough ?? Surely this is the phrasal verb strike through. Algrif 11:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Surely this is a matter for Wiktionary:Requests for verification? The noun certainly exists; the verb seems to be on the fringe of existence, and should probably be included but marked non-standard. (It definitely meets CFI, but if we consider it a misspelling of "strike through", it's not common enough to include.) It's probably analogous to the verb login, which can only be written as one word in its plain form. (Note that "please login" gets about twice the Google hits that "please log in" does.) —RuakhTALK 15:53, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK I'll put the verb request there. Algrif 16:00, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

strikethrough as a verb?? Surely this is the phrasal verb strike through. Algrif 16:01, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like it. I googled for struckthrough as a potential past form and got 105,000 hits. All the listing I looked at were functioning as adjectives for the first few pages of returns. --EncycloPetey 16:58, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can't find any evidence for this form, as much as I'd like it to exist. Equinox 22:11, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done Done So changed the past participle to struckthrough; see Citations:struckthrough. Equinox 23:21, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
