@Ysrael214 Where'd you get the alternative form "talibon" and the definition "sharpened wood or bamboo used as a spear"? Mar vin kaiser (talk) 07:02, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser
1. Spanish overlays, Philippine Spanish form talibón, or possibly evolved too with the /ŋ/ > /n/ alteration.

@Ysrael214: What does Spanish overlays say? Because based on what I see, "talibong" sounds like a native word, and since Spanish people can't pronounce the "-ng" ending, it becomes "-n", becomes "talibon" in Spanish. Notice how you never see "talibon" used in Tagalog, only "talibong", even in Vocabulario. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 13:40, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser It just says "Philippine Spanish talibón, Tagalog talibong, "long dagger"", the document is just showing examples of some with equivalent Philippine Spanish spelling. Ysrael214 (talk) 13:43, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser And yes, it's a native word. Not a Spanish word. Ysrael214 (talk) 13:44, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
