Itneg in Tagalog?[edit]

@Ysrael214 I'm wondering why you put Itneg things here. Mar vin kaiser (talk) 05:22, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ysrael214: Also, is the entire source for this entry from Vocabulario, or also from personal knowledge? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 05:23, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser
The #1 definition is from diksiyonaryo.ph, and some of the synonyms
Else is all Vocabulario.
The Itneg labels are because of the part of Vocabulario put in Talilong:
Es de los tinguianes
Which means it's a Tinguian (exonym) word or from the Itneg ethnic group.
The Itneg people also use Tagalog, not just the Itneg language
For the adjective:
Vocabulario has this entry:
Entendido. Taas. pc. tocoy. pc. Talinong pp.
Not sure if that meant that someone who understood, or simply understood but I took it as an adjective because of the "tukoy" synonym given like "Tukoy na namin ang hinahanap mo". Ysrael214 (talk) 06:34, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser or should it be (Abra) instead? Ysrael214 (talk) 12:26, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ysrael214: To clarify, the reason for you connecting "talinong" with the "talilong" entry in Vocabulario is because of the similar spelling and the similar definition? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:25, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser No, Vocabulario implies it's a variant. Theres' TALINONG, l. TALILONG in the same entry. p.413 I think. Ysrael214 (talk) 14:37, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ysrael214: Here I see them separately: https://books.google.com.ph/books?id=kC1ZPrtPwwEC&pg=PP5&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=3#v=onepage&q&f=false --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:40, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ysrael214: I reinvestigated the sources for this entry and I have a few questions:
  1. I edited the definition you typed about "becoming apt", I edited the translation a bit. Though I'm wondering why you added a "Batangas" label (I changed it into "Southern Tagalog" since I'm assuming it's from the Kumintang label in Vocabulario). I don't think that definition was labelled as Kumintang in Vocabulario. Only the "certificarse" definition.
  2. I'm not sure where you got the synonyms you added in the "becoming apt" definition. I can't find it in Vocabulario. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 15:58, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser
1. Isn't Kumintang just Batangas, not the entire Southern Tagalog region?
2. I forgot. Maybe I inferred based on the definition
Why did you remove talilong? Ysrael214 (talk) 16:11, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ysrael214: Yeah, you seem to be right, I've reversed it back to "Batangas". But we both agree right that the "becoming apt" definition has no Kumintang label in Vocabulario? I've already removed the "Batangas" label on that definition. As for "talilong", it's only defined as "certificarse" in Vocabulario, and the definitions of "talinong" are more diverse, so it would be easier to list it as a synonym of "talinong" for the definition "certificarse", and I transferred the info of "talilong" into the entry talilong. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 02:21, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser Okay fair enough. Ysrael214 (talk) 02:45, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mar vin kaiser For definition of being apt, talilong should also be there since it's listed in the Vocabulario. Ysrael214 (talk) 02:46, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
