Old sense?

[edit]

Chambers 1908 has a sense "not tamed or made subject to man, maiden, virgin"; it's glossed with a name which I assume is Shakespeare (so we would probably ignore this as a nonce word); my digital copy is a real mess though so I can't be 100% sure about that name. Not operated?

[edit]

In section 1.3 (English/Adjective) we currently read the definition:

  1. not operated by a person or a crew

While this may be correct when referring to e.g. an automated road vehicle, it is clearly incorrect in cases such as UAVs to say that they are not operated by a person or crew: in fact they are often operated by a remote person or crew.
