Yes, Wends are all Slavic people (that means akin to Russians, Belorussians, Little Russians, Serbs and so on), who once lived in the German Empire (according to the Wikipedia article). From these nowadays the predominant remnants are the Sorbs. Texas Wends are also mentioned in the article and a separate article for them is forecast, judging from the red link.
