Etymology for the whiskey[edit]

Hotten says this was military slang, because the strong whiskey would make one's eyes roll back (showing the whites). I saw another source that implied it was "white-eye" because the liquid was clear/transparent, though that doesn't explain the "eye" part in my opinion. Equinox 20:07, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
