I use it for "why not?" which makes more sense because the contraction is a replacement of the O with an apostrophe. "Why didn't" and "why don't" should be "whydn't"

They, too, make sense because the contraction drops the "do" or "did". Equinox 13:39, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
