Etymology

15th century. From Medieval Latin tapēta f (wall covering), from the plural of tapētum n, itself derived from tapēte n, tapēs m, from Ancient Greek τάπης m (tápēs, carpet, rug), from an (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "ira" is not valid.
