This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote Edmund Spenser's work The Faerie Queene. Books I to III were first published in 1590, and then republished in 1596 together with books IV to VI. The template creates a link to online versions of these works at the Internet Archive.

The template takes the following parameters:

If this parameter is omitted, the template links to the 1590 edition.
  • |book= – the book number in uppercase Roman numerals, either |book=I, |book=II, |book=III, |book=IV, |book=V or |book=VI.
  • |canto= – the canto number quoted in uppercase Roman numerals.
  • |stanza= or |stanzas= – the stanza number(s) quoted. When quoting a range of stanzas, separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this: |stanzas=10–11.
  • |page= or |pages= – the page number(s) to be quoted from. You must specify this information to have the template create an automatic link to an online version of the book. When quoting a range of pages, note the following:
    • Separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this: |pages=110–111.
    • You must also use |pageref= to specify the page number that the template should link to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).
  • |format= – by default, the template creates an abbreviated citation of the work. To display a full citation, use |format=full.
  • |passage= – a passage to be quoted from the work.
