The 5-point grade system in Hungary:

  1. jeles (“excellent”) or ötös (“five”), like English A
  2. jó (“good”) or négyes (“four”), like English B
  3. közepes (“fair, satisfactory”) or hármas (“three”), like English C
  4. elégséges (“sufficient”) or kettes (“two”), like English D
  5. elégtelen (“insufficient”) or egyes (“one”), like English F
