Relative noun (nisba)

This template is meant to be used in the etymology section. It displays the word Relative noun (nisba) (or lowercase relative noun (nisba) if lc=1 is given, or plural nouns if pl=1 is given), linked to the appropriate section of Appendix:Arabic nominals, and also places the page in Category:Arabic relative nouns (nisba) unless nocat=1 is given. It also normally displays a composed from section indicating the composition of the word from an underlying word and the ending (usually either َة (-a) when added onto a nisba adjective, or ِيّ (-iyy) or ِيَّة (-iyya) when added onto something else).

Parameters:

  • |lc= If set to non-empty, use initial lowercase.
  • |nocat= If set to non-empty, don't place in the appropriate category.
  • |pl= If set to non-empty, pluralize the displayed word noun.
  • |1= Underlying Arabic word. If omitted, don't display a composed from section.
  • |tr= Optional transliteration for the word, if it cannot be derived automatically.
  • |2= Gloss for underlying Arabic word.
  • |3= Arabic text of the suffix. Automatically transliterated and the transliteration prepended with a hyphen. If omitted, defaults to ِيّ (-iyy).
