This template creates a conjugation table for verb forms used in literary Welsh. Many of these forms are not encountered in the colloquial language. This template is for polysyllabic verb roots ending in a (mostly built on the denominative/causative suffix -ha-).

Usage

[edit]
{{cy-conj-o
  |(root)
  |1s=(1st singular present/future)
  |3s=(3rd singular present/future)
  |imp=(2nd singular imperative)
  |verbadj=edig/adwy/both-a/none
}}
Note
The template is shown vertically above for convenience. When using it, you must remove the line breaks and blank spaces or it won't render properly.

Definition of parameters

[edit]
  • (root) = the root of the verb, omitting the final o. This is the only obligatory parameter.
  • 1s= the 1st person singular present/future, if it is not formed simply by adding -oaf to the root.
  • 3s= the 3rd person singular present/future, if it is not formed simply by adding -oa to the root.
  • imp= the 2nd person singular imperative, if it is not formed simply by adding -oa to the root.
  • verbadj= Enter edig if only the verbal adjective in -edig is attested. Enter adwy if only the verb adjective in -adwy is attested. Enter both-a if a verbal adjective in -oedig/-oëdig as well as a verbal adjective in -adwy is attested. Enter none if neither verbal adjective is attested. Omit this parameter if a verbal adjective in -edig as well as a verbal adjective in -adwy are attested.
