Assumed Devanagari in {{sa-decl-noun}}

This edit screws up entries such as पद् (pad) which have manually provided inflection table due to irregularities in inflection. They use named paramters (ns=, vs= etc.) which use {{Deva}} to encapsulate Devanagari script, but also manually provide Latin-script transliteration in parentheses, which do not need {{Deva}}. Those two {{Deva}}s somehow interfere with one another, producing vertical and horizontal scrollbar in the inflection table, which of course shouldn't be there. This undesirable effect could be mitigated by:

1. Splitting transliterations and Devanagari spellings into separate set of parameters. E.g. ns= for Devanagari spelling, and ns-t= for a Latin-script transliteration of the nominative singular form. The first set of parameters would assume the usage of {{Deva}}, while the second set of parameters would not.
2. Adding sc= named parameter for manually specifying script, defaulting to Deva. This would require all the upper-level templates invoking this one to propagate their own sc=, also defaulting to Deva. This approach would have the benefit of generalization, in case we decided to add Sanskrit entries in script other than Devanagari, in some distant point of future. Entries providing irregular inflection using named parameters would thus use empty sc= (which can be in the MediaWiki template language handled as a separate case, as opposed to not using sc= at all), with manually providing the encapsulation of non-Latin script into {{Deva}}, or whatever. --Ivan Štambuk 09:16, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

@JohnC5: I'll revert. {{sa-decl-adj}} was taking up a lot of space (as in visual space, not memory), but it's no problem. —Aryaman ^{(मुझसे बात करो)} 14:59, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
