@CodeCat I think the transliteration for Ethiopic script languages should be optional, the automatic transliteration is not always working and the manual override should be allowed when it doesn't. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 23:49, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem that needs to be addressed is shwa-dropping, as with Hindi and some other languages. They are similar for Tigrinya and Amharic to the unrelated Hindi but not the same, I couldn't find any definite info on it. A programmer could implement the rules in the module then. Arguably, the gemination of consonants as well - often ignored in other dictionaries (there's no graphical representation for it) as well but native speakers know when to use it. --Anatoli T. Why did we even introduce overriding transliterations in the first place?? Anyway, go to Module:links and remove it there. —CodeCat 00:04, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
override_translit is not set for am and ti in the links module, so it CAN be overridden. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 00:08, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
