From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin Thrācia, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek Θρᾴκη (Thrā́ikē), from Θρᾷξ (Thrâix, Thracian), from base of θράσσω (thrássō, to trouble, stir) and -ιξ (-ix) (compare Φοῖνιξ (Phoînix, Phoenician) and Κίλιξ (Kílix, Cilician)).
