Etymology[edit]

Unknown. A mountain with the same name exists in Berat, Albania, and other places also share a similar name, namely Tomorrica in Skrapar, Τόμαρος (Tómaros) and Illyrian *Temus, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰh₁s-o-. Altogether suggests a common Illyrian origin. Alternatively related to marr (obtain, get), thus meaning "obtainer".
