Etymology

Unknown. A mountain with the same name exists in Berat, Albania, and other places also share a similar name, namely Tomorrica in Skrapar, Τόμαρος (Tómaros) and Illyrian *Temus, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *dʰh₁s-o-. Altogether suggests a common (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Illyrian origin. Alternatively related to marr (obtain, get), thus meaning "obtainer".

Proper noun

Tomor

  1. The supreme God of Albanian mythology

Usage notes

Also referred to as Baba Tomor.
