Whtevi[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Old Whtevi fei, from an unknown source, possibly from an Anatolian language (compare Hittite teri), via *trei > *þrei > *frei; alternatively, from Awen *feir < *ʍeir < *weir, from Proto-Lyndian *Vir (three). Cognates include Modern Basque (deprecated template usage) hiru, (deprecated template usage) hirur, from Proto-Vasconic *(h)irur̄, from *(h)ir (three) + *-(u)r̄ (plural or collective). The Proto-Vasconic suffix was likely employed to disambiguate the numeral from a homophone.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • (standard) IPA(key): /fɛ̯e/
  • (Cinkeihldi) IPA(key): /fe̯ɪ/
