I can assure you that this is not incorrect in standardised British English. The issue does, however, appear to be a difference concerning American English and British English standards which will, of course, not be resolved by any length of reasoned discussion. If, indeed, this particular dictionary page was created by a native speaker of American English, I understand that it ought remain in this form as you so suggest.

I should also like to seize this opportunity in order to assure you that I do not regard your petty reversions as argument.
