Word length is fairly meaningless in Chinese. Each character represents a whole word. I suppose that stroke count is as close as you can come to the concept of length, and that requires understanding how a Chinese dictionary works. It requires a separate stroke count for each "radical" and for the additional stroke that goes into making a compound character.
The separate list may be what is required. It presents an interesting challenge for how to index Chinese characters in a latin context for people who haven't got a clue about how to read Chinese. Fluent Chinese readers may not be the ones to accomplish this, because they are too familiar with their own language to be able to ask the right questions. Eclecticology 04:44 Dec 18, 2002 (UTC)

Hi Fonzy. Not that I care too much, but I thought a "(" was always preceded by a space in English (as in most languages). I have never seen it otherwise. Are you sure it's like this? D.D. 22:08 Feb 26, 2003 (UTC)

When I first saw that you had a message on my user page, I expected criticism because I had removed the word of the week from the main page. I don't really mind it being there as long as those who want it maintain it. I've had concerns about the quantity of text on the main page, but haven't figured out what I would want to do about it.
Your proposal certainly looks nice, and even I have to admit that despite my reservations about translations it does seem to have attracted some interest. There is nevertheless a lot of duplication of material. The thesaurus section does not seem to add a lot of new material, which makes me question the usefulness of having this as separate pages at all. Eclecticology 22:03 Apr 1, 2003 (UTC)

You manged to fix one of my screw ups before, maybe you can do it again. I've been moving the various all capital interlingua index articles to a more appropriate place. I was moving [[DYNAMIC - DYSPEPTICO}} to Wiktionary:Interlingua_index_(dynamic_-_dyspeptico)), and managed to make it disappear. I inadvertently left a blank space at the beginning of the title. Putting a redirect to the corrected title (with no space at the extra parenthesis at the end removed) hasn't helped. The article doesn't seem to be there. However, if I search under the word "DYNAMIC" (in block capitals) it shows up in the list, but the link does not give me what it's supposed to be. Could you please have a look at this. well acordng to recent changes you created the pafe DYNAMIC - DYSPEPTICO. There was never anything in it anyway, thats all i can say, I looked [1] to restore things, but there was nothing to retore expect one redirect page that you created to do with the pages you mentioned. -fonzy
I wish life could be so simple!!! I didn't create it, and if things had gone on normally I would have ended up deleting it like all other pages of this type. Recent changes puts an "N" marker when a page is moved. Presumably because it involves creating a new page with a different title. The page history shows that the page was moved to a title that begins with a blank space.
I normally set my search preferences to show 5 lines per hit (setting it higher seems to have no effect). My search results for "DYNAMIC" show an article with 1146 bytes at Wiktionary:Interlingua_index_(dynamic_-_dyspeptico)) rather than at Wiktionary:Interlingua_index_(dynamic_-_dyspeptico)), and it shows an extract of the text that should be there containing "DYNAMIC". Clicking on the link merely give me a page that includes my later attempt to redirect this to where it should be! Eclecticology 23:28 Apr 26, 2003 (UTC)
