Edits at の#Japanese and 野#Japanese[edit]

I just rolled your edits back at these two entries. In both cases, you'd apparently misunderstood the notation. Neither entry includes any phonetic notation for the reconstructed Proto-Japanese. In both cases, the ⟨ bracket notation ⟩ indicate the spelling in Old Japanese. The following in / slash notation / indicates the currently leading academic view of how this spelling was pronounced in Old Japanese (or at least the understanding of that view of the relevant Wiktionary editor). The final portion in / slash notation / indicates the modern pronunciation.

I hope this helps explain our current layout. Cheers, ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 07:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
