Wiktionary is not a place for you to add your made-up words. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 21:35, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Happysand (talk) hi, Metaknowledge. Pogget is not a made-up WORD, it is a made up CREATURE, thanks very much. And it’s a creature I WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO KNoW ABOUT. Griffins aren’t real. If I’d just invented griffins 3 seconds ago, you would criticize me for that. But then it would be a mythical creature that is very common, blah blah blah, you get the idea. SO HAH. Oh, and I’ve looked at about ten of your discussions, and you seem to b criticizing EVERYONE U SEE. Also, ur a hypocrite. Some dude told u not to put a made up word on somewhere.
It's a made-up word for a made-up creature. You're welcome to tell everyone about poggets- somewhere else. You're not welcome to add it to our dictionary until people (other than you or your friends) are actually using the word. People have been talking about griffins in a number of languages for thousands of years, so we can have entries for them. If someone had just made up griffins, we wouldn't allow a dictionary entry until we had evidence that the word was in use.
I know that makes us annoying and dull, but that's just the way it is. If I interrupted you while you were talking to your friends about poggets and gave a lecture about English words for Gasterosteiform fish, you would have every reason to tell me to go away- there's a right and a wrong place for everything. Okay, sorry. I shouldn’t be a stubborn annoyance. It just... at first didn’t make a bunch of sense. If I want people to know about these things, how do I GET them to? Sorry I was a pain. 🙇🏻‍♀️
