Hello. Please do not create Hebrew entries with vowels in the page title, even as redirects. Also, I am not convinced that ל־ח־ם is a root relating to bread; not all Hebrew words form or derive from productive roots, and it seems to me that this is one of those cases. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:17, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
Μετάknowledge, I am not trying to convince you, but I did NOT create the entry that said a meaning was "bread/food". That already existed in Wiktionary. The history link https://en.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=%D7%9C%D7%97%D7%9D&oldid=2630781 shows that User:Ruakh added that information. I expect Ruakh used the same information I used (Strong's). Perhaps it is only in biblical Hebrew that it occurs. By the way, the attestation for fight is the previous Strong's number is https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?strongs=H3898&t=WLC
On the issue of the redirect, I know there is a tradition of not linking the pointed forms on Wiktionary. What is the standard action when a case like this occurs (ie two words that differ only in vowels) ? — This unsigned comment was added by Hebrewlearn (talk • contribs).
- Well, Ruakh is not infallible. If it is indeed a productive root, could you add terms that are formed with it to the page?
- It happens very frequently that Hebrew words will differ only in their vowels, and in those cases they are in the same entry. See כתב for an example. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 00:06, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
