I see you that you have understanding in Japanese. Check out the Wiktionary:About Chinese characters and tell us what you think. --Menchi 22:20 May 5, 2003 (UTC)

Thank you = sumimasen ?? --Xaos

sumimasen or sumimasen deshita could mean both excuse me and thank you -- maybe because when someone doing some kindness to us, she/he often had to trouble her/himself. We say 'sorry' for the trouble, but smile for her/his kindness at the same time. You may want to google for "thank you sumimasen". Petruk 14:10 May 29, 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for the solution for Uluṟu / Kata Tjuṯa. I redirected my entries accordingly. They show up like they should as long as you use the standard or nostalgia skins, but not in cologne blue. Any idea why? Thanks! D.D. 19:51 May 31, 2003 (UTC)

Glad to hear that. It looks like the two characters show up exactly the same on all skins. On cologne blue the font of 'default' alphabets are changed but not these two. I suspect this is because the font used does not currently contain them. Petruk 20:52 May 31, 2003 (UTC)

Hi Petruk, What are you using to make your robot? I made one with PHP that works really nicely. Maybe have a look at: http://wiktionary.org/wiki/User:Polyglot/PHPscript1 Cheers134.58.253.130 19:32 Aug 3, 2003 (UTC)

Hello Polyglot. Many thanks. I'm aware that you have made a robo-script. I know almost nothing about php language yet. The robo I made was created by combining shell script, some unix tools, and home-made C-language tool. Maybe someday we could use our robo to backup the Wiktionary :-) Petruk 21:21 Aug 3, 2003 (UTC)

Hi Petruk,
If you want, I can reasonably quickly write a script in PHP that just visits all the pages on the wiktionary and downloads their information. I am trying to come up with a way to represent the info in xml right now. But for backup that isn't exactly necessary. It wouldn´t be a very efficient way of backing it up though (bandwith wise). So I don't know if the person who started the project would be very happy with that solution.
I think PHP is easier than trying to combine shell scripting and C, especially if you start with what I came up with. It probably could use some more commenting and maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to isolate the functionality in more functions.134.58.253.130 22:08 Aug 3, 2003 (UTC)

Thank you for your kindness. My bot already has some basic features, to do POST or GET, and use valid user name. It needs only some tuning and additional regexp action to do more. I enjoy creating it. I think I will learn some technics you used in your PHP-script too. Petruk 16:36 Aug 4, 2003 (UTC)

You're welcome. I would be interested to see your work once it's more finished. I didn't find out how to authenticate with a valid user name. What I do is authenticate before starting the bot on another page. In fact it's rather like an aid to present the info gathered from text files in a wiki way and presenting me with a preview page. Then I still have to save it myself. This seemed safer to me. Usually there is still something to edit anyway. Like IPA transcriptions and the like. A disadvantage of my way of working is that I need to do one lookup to find out whether the entry already exists, then another to ask for a preview, and then another to save the final product. It takes twice as long than normal, but it saves a lot of typing.Polyglot 08:18 Aug 5, 2003 (UTC)

Hi, Petruk. You put Indonesian & Japanese translations into drawer. I've added several English definitions, but I'm not sure which one(s) the translations apply to. Could you please take a look at it and match the translations with the appropriate definitions? Thanks. -- Ortonmc 04:40, 15 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Hello!
I think that
<input type="hidden" name="num" value="50">
should be inserted to
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Googlesearch
so that 50 search matches could be displayed at one time.
Greetings
