Welsh help[edit]

Would you be able to add the Welsh translations to the pages for listen and parrot? --EncycloPetey 00:21, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added a translation for listen, but I'm afraid I don't know the Welsh word for parrot (I'm not a native speaker) and I haven't found any translations for it. My guess is that it's parrot, just like in English, but I can't be sure. StradivariusTV 21:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

damnit[edit]

Hi,

I rolled back your section removal, then looked closer. Then edited. The entry look OK now?

I agree - I like your pronunciation better. But yes, it is an attested (common) spelling. The more I think about it, the more I think of it as a bowdlerization of some sort, but I'm too lazy to look up references for it. My addition of "Southern" indeed, is probably wrong; I dunno...I just think of a Southern preacher whenever I hear it (despite never having met one, AFAIK.)
More important than it saying "misspelling" is that it now uses the {{misspelling of}} template, so that bots recognize it as a misspelling too.
Thank you for looking it over. --Connel MacKenzie 05:36, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
