Other names?[edit]

Hentaigana ≠ Hiragana
Please remove that from the “Other names” column. — This unsigned comment was added by 32.212.121.214 (talk).

The "other names" field is perhaps a bit misleadingly named: when it comes to both script codes and language codes, it's used to hold not only synonymous names, but also the names of things that are included within the given code, and hentaigana are a subset of hiragana. (Names of dialects are also included as "other names" of languages, if the dialects have ISO codes or there is some other reason someone would wonder "how does Wiktionary encode X?") - -sche (discuss) 02:54, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
