Babel[edit]

I'm not sure if this question belongs here, but isn't there yet the Babel templates on Wiktionary? Are you planning to start using them? --193.229.42.33 15:40, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I have no strong feelings on this either way. Are you volunteering to set this up? Eclecticology 18:13, 2005 Jun 23 (UTC)
In the design of Ultimate Wiktionary I have made provisions of including BABEL templates. This makes sense as knowing who to contact on particular languages is much more of an issue in UW. GerardM 21:46, 12 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

translations/variations[edit]

Will this project just be like the current wiktionary, with front page links to each language? Or will each entry have the definition/translation for the word? I can imagine this having two implementations, if this idea is intended. One would be I look up the word "love" and at the bottom of the article (or the top, wherever) there is a list of translations, each linking to the appropriate language. The second idea is that I type in "love" and get a definition in English, someone else types in "amor" or "liebe" in the same search box, and they get the appropriate translation of the definition. I guess I'm just curious what a multi-lingual dictionary is really intended to do for users like me who are interested in translation, but primarily only look up words in their native tongue. --Crazytonyi 17:50, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
