Is this for real?

[edit]

Polansky, you are approaching self-parody. Keφr 17:47, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

So tell us, sir, to which template should we convert Wiktionary to? Do you already know it? --Dan Polansky (talk) 17:58, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

The above statistics are not completely relevant to the vote

[edit]

I use {{lb}}, but I use it because it's both a shortcut and because of the parameter order. If {{cx}} had the same parameter order, I'd use that too. So just the use of a particular doesn't imply that someone prefers that name. —CodeCat 00:41, 29 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

The actual editing behavior in the mainspace is merely an ersatz, but it is better than nothing in the absence of explicit disclosure of editor preferences. If e.g. editors use "cx" rather than "lb", it may be because they prefer "context" over "label", or because they prefer "lang=en" over "en", or because they are unaware of "lb". Ideally, editors should disclose their preferences explicitly. They may do so in the poll, but they may also do so on this talk page. --Dan Polansky (talk) 00:52, 29 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
