Probably from a (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Vulgar Latin *basto, bastonem, itself a modification of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Late Latin bastum, or possibly noun use of the verb *bastāre, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter "sc" should be a valid script code; the value "polytonic" is not valid.
