Albanian

Etymology

From bisht (tail) +‎ -ajë.[1] Alternatively borrowed from Vulgar Latin *pistālia (compare Romanian păstaie), from Late Latin pistāre (to pound), from Latin pinsō (stamp, pound, crush), however less likely.

Noun

bishtajë f (plural bishtaje, definite bishtaja, definite plural bishtajet)

  1. pod
