Albanian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Albanian *būšta, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰuH- (to grow) (compare English bush, Greek φύση (fýsi, nature), Armenian բույս (buys, plant)). Others, however, argue for a borrowing from a pre-Indo-European substratum, drawing parallels to Basque bustan and Romanian buştean.[1][2]

Noun[edit]

bisht m (indefinite plural bishta)

  1. (anatomy) tail
  2. (orthography) cedilla
