From Proto-Albanian *bruma, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰréwmn̥, from the root *bʰrew(h₁)- (compare Old English Burme (leaven), Latin fermentum (leaven, yeast)), from *bʰrewh₁- (to boil, seethe) (compare English brew).[1]
