1. (law) A person or company that owes a charge or right of security.
   • 1979, The New Law Journal, volume 128, page 948:

     […] the charge was not within the class of charges which the chargor company was authorised to grant by its memorandum.

   • 1996, Donald D. Barry, George Ginsburgs, The Revival of Private Law in Central and Eastern Europe, page 344:

     Article 18 of the Law concerns only chargors which are legal entities or natural persons registered as entrepreneurs.
