Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Vulgar Latin *culmēna, feminine of culmēnus, from Latin culmus. Alternatively of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "cel" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. origin, from a root *kolmēnā, from kŏlmos ("straw"). Compare Portuguese colmeia.
