Etymology

From Old French desclore; equivalent to dé- +‎ clore. May also correspond to Latin discludō, discludere [1] (through a Vulgar Latin form *disclaudō, disclaudere. Compare Occitan desclaure, Catalan descloure, Italian dischiudere, Romanian deschide.
