Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish دوگون (düğün, “wedding”), which derives from Proto-Turkic *tügün (“knot; contract”), a development of *tüg- (“to tie in a knot; make a loop”), from which also düğüm (“knot”).
