From colloquial Hindustani देओदार (deodār) / دیودار (de'o-dār), from देवदारु (devdāru) / دیودار (dev-dāru), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Sanskrit देवदारु (deva-dāru) ‘divine tree’.
