1. Having an elongated preacetabular blade; characterised by elongated and narrow pubes and ischia, often accompanied by large front and back extensions of the ilium.

     As noted by Colbert (1964) and others, they had developed a dolichoiliac pelvis (with an enlargment of the anterior blade of the ilium) and, I might add, a tendency to increase the height of the ilium.

   • 1997, Philip J. Currie, Kevin Padian, Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs:

     The SAUROPODOMORPHA pelvic girdle is propubic and brachyiliac in the shape of the iliac blade (as opposed to the dolichoiliac condition of Theropoda).
