draw ahead (third-person singular simple present draws ahead, present participle drawing ahead, simple past drew ahead, past participle drawn ahead)

  1. (intransitive) To pass somebody or something going in the same direction; to move into a winning or advantageous position.
  2. (nautical, of a wind) To shift to blow in the direction a ship is moving.
