From Arabic مَاسُورَة (māsūra).

  1. a short length of small reed, used in a weaver's shuttle or elsewhere as a bobbin
    Synonym: (bobbin) استاج (istac)
  2. a piece of pipe, serving as a spout to a fountain
  3. name of a certain measure used in the distribution of water from an aqueduct, also, the quantity of water it furnishes; equal to four chewaldiz, and to one fourth of a lule
