fast backward (third-person singular simple present fast backwards, present participle fast backwarding, simple past and past participle fast backwarded)

  1. (transitive) To cause playout of (a video, audio, or other digital media file) to move very fast backwards in time, so that when the device is played, it will start at an earlier point.
  2. (intransitive, of a digital media file) To be so moved.
