Aromanian

[edit]

Etymology 1

[edit]

Uncertain, but cognate to Romanian flutura, flutur.[1] Related to Albanian flutur and possibly derived from it. Other theories include a Vulgar Latin *flucturō, from Latin fluctuō, or *flutulō, or alternatively just an expressive creation of imitative origin.
