Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Vulgar Latin cicāla, from Latin cicāda (“cicada”),[1] with metathesis of voicedness from the more conservative form qingallë. The unetymological -n- may have been inserted by contamination with qengj, qingj (“lamb”).
Noun[edit]
gjinkallë f (plural gjinkalla)
