1. Of or pertaining to a goniatite, especially the characteristic wavy patterns of their fossils.
   • 1908, Memoirs of the Geological Survey of India: Palæontologia Indica‎^[1]:

     To the naked eye the lateral lobes appear nearly goniatitic or faintly serrated, but by means of a lens denticulations in the ogival arch, which forms the base of the principal lateral lobe, can be made out distinctly.

   • 2006, Robert Wynn Jones, Applied Palaeontology‎^[2], page 140:

     In terms of hard-part morphology, goniatites are diagnosed by the simple to goniatitic form of their sutures.

   • 2015, Jens Boenigk, Biodiversity and Earth History‎^[3], page 84:

     The Goniatitida were characterised by a smooth, undulated or bended suture ('goniatitic'), whereas the Ceratitida possessed sutures that were posteriorly zig-zagging but anteriorly smooth ('ceratitic').
