Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Brythonic *haɣeð, from Proto-Celtic *sagyeti (“to seek out”) + *-iyā. Cognate with Old Irish saigid (“to approach, to reach”) and Latin sagio (“I perceive (quickly)”).[1][2]
