  1. (British, dated) Synonym of camel spider (arachnid of the order Solifugae)

      The well known Galeodes, is very common in arid countries, and is popularly known as a "Jerrymunglum." It is a harmless arthropod.

      Your correspondence about contests staged between scorpions and spiders recalls a small military cantonment in Hyderabad (Deccan) in 1893.
