Etymology[edit]

Forsskål’s 1775 Flora Ægyptiaco-Arabica recorded the Arabic لَبَخ (labaḵ) as læbach, leæba (page 172), lebbek (page LI, LXXVII), which Willdenow’s 1797 edition of Linnæi Species plantarum made translingual as Acacia lebbeck.
