Inherited from Latin lambere (lick, lap). Found in a text written in Spanish with Leonese influence (Otas de Roma) dating to the 15h century as llambiendole and in another similar (De Proprietatibus Rerum) as lamber, a translation from Latin to Spanish with very heavy influence from Leonese.[1]
