Etymology

From earlier *misā, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *meisā, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *mei-ĝh (to mix, stir). Compare Ancient Greek μείξω (meíxō, mix, mingle), Latin misceō (mix), Old High German miskan (mix), Lithuanian miešiù and Old Irish mesc (drunk).
